The walk through the Valley of Lares will take you to know remote places, a destination wich is still unknown by many, a trip to the heart of the Andes where few have ventured. During this walk you will enjoy beautiful Andean landscapes, with valleys, rivers, lagoons with crystal clear waters, waterfalls, queñuales forests and you will discover the way of life of the Andean rural communities.

Itinerary Detail

  • Day : 1     CUSCO (3350 m) - LARES (3500 m) - HUACAHUASI (3700 m).

    This day we will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to transfer you to the town of Lares (3,500 masl) located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First you will arrive at the town of Calca and Maucaupata where you will appreciate the typical costumes of the inhabitants who are mainly dedicated to textiles, agriculture and animal breeding.

    When you arrive in Lares you can enjoy its famous thermal baths and then enjoy an energetic lunch. Later, you will start the trek uphill for approximately 4 hours until we reach the community of Huacahuasi (3,700 masl), where its inhabitants produce fine weavings by hand and still maintain the customs of their ancestors.

  • Day : 2     HUACAHUASI (3700 mts) - IPSAYCOCHA (4400 mts) - PATACANCHA (3850 mts)

    In the morning you will enjoy a breakfast accompanied by the local family, located in the middle of the mountains and then start the hike where you will ascend to the highest point of the route: the Ipsaycocha pass at 4400 masl from where you will appreciate a beautiful landscape. Then continue with the descent to the lagoon Ipsaycocha where you will enjoy an energetic lunch, at the end continue the trek to the community of Patacancha (3,850 masl) where you will have the opportunity to interact with its residents.

  • Day : 3     PATACANCHA (3850 mts) - WILLOC (3520 mts) - PUMAMARCA - CUSCO

    This day, after breakfast, you will begin the descent hike for approximately 5 hours. You will pass through the community of Willoq (3,520 masl) and the archaeological site of Pumamarca, located at a strategic point since the view is privileged to appreciate the valleys of Patacancha and Yuracmayo. You will continue your walk to Ollantaytambo where you can visit this amazing town and appreciate the customs of its inhabitants. After the visit, our private vehicle will wait for you to transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
